摘要

Efficient numerical programs of great generality are utilized for steady forced transfer problems with constant heat input per unit length. Fully developed coupled velocity and convective thermal fields for long straight ducts of arbitrary cross-sections are obtained by direct finite-difference solution of the governing momentum and energy equations. Arbitrary Dirichlet temperature boundary conditions are considered. Example solutions of simple sections are compared favorably with analytic solutions. Other examples include extended surfaces more typical of some contemporary heat exchange channels. Application to heat transfer is discussed. (Author)
