The Fargo-Moorhead Urban Study is a cooperative Federal, State and local planning effort aimed at developing viable solutions to water and related land resource problems, needs and concerns for 1980-2030. The summary report contains a brief, non-technical overview. Readers desiring additional detailed information should review the appropriate technical appendixes. This report is divided into four sections: physiographic, biological, cultural, and water resources. Physiographic elements section includes geology, soils and minerals. The biological elements sections describes the natural environment, such as the basic ecosystems in the study area and lists plants, animals and rare and endangered species. The cultural elements section describes man's activities covering buildings, roads and land uses. The water resources section provides information on climate, surface water, ground-water, water quality, water supply, wastewater management and floods.
