The moment has arrived, and we are proud to present the new print version of Swiss Medical Weekly.This is not a new start but a further milestone in our journal's long history. In taking this step we have been guided by our readers' needs, researchers' priorities and outstanding existing examples1. No need to go on innovating for ourselves when there are excellent ideas to be had from other sources.The print version is chiefly intended to address scientifically oriented clinicians in the field of internal medicine. The large number of reviews - medical intelligence, current opinion and med tech - will fill its pages with a wide range of cutting edge but also established themes: accessible to all, but not superficial; specialist expertise, but at the same time challenging general knowledge.
