The November/December issue of Standards Engineering opens with the winning paper from the World Standards Day paper competition; Julie Kapp and Debra Oliver address standards for life expectancy. There were three winning papers this year, so look for the others in future issues. We also have the winning paper from the ANSI student paper compettion- Karmin Chong addresses the need for standards in support of regulation. The runner-up will also be published in a later issue.
