Today, perhaps due to and since the advent of the Internet, the face-to-face factor in the standards development process has been increasingly relegated to a level of insignificance in some industries, unfortunately. Yet, there are tools evolving ever striving to artificially simulate the face-to-face factor. Now I can imagine you thinking, "What the heck is he talking about?" I guess I am simply waxing philosophical as I sit here in front of the TV tonight watching political debates and talking heads. In a sudden moment of daydreaming, it came to me that the human mind is not only an enigma but also an amazing wonder in how it operates. Consciousness has a very limited bandwidth which one might describe as a flashlight of concentration on one's surroundings; thus much more information is being absorbed through one's senses than that of which one may be consciously aware.
