Editorial

摘要

We are approaching the years 2014 and 2015, two important landmarks on the global health and development agenda. First, 2014 marks 20 years after the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in Cairo and currently a United Nations review of the ICPD Programme of Action is ongoing under the title; ICPD Beyond 2014. It aims to become part of a process to create a more equal and sustainable future for the world's 7 billion people. Secondly, in 2015, it is time to sum up the achievements in relation to the Millennium Development Goals and to agree on a new global agenda for health and development beyond the MDGs. Sexual and reproductive health should remain a priority area even beyond 2015. The scientific community has the responsibility to contribute to the way forward with research that can provide knowledge and evidence to guide policy and practice related to sexual and reproductive health and care. This journal is therefore planning a special issue on interventions during pregnancy and childbirth, and we hereby start the call for papers.
