Unless sublet windows open up, a small residue of demand is likely to be pushed into 2008. Demand for jackups is expected to go up slightly, but this will likely be absorbed by the incumbent fleet. WEST AFRICA: Saipem and Eni have signed a three-year contract for deepwater semi Scarabeo 7, which is presently on charter with ExxonMobil offshore Nigeria. The new commitment will start upon conclusion of ExxonMobil's well-based contract, which has an estimated finish date of December 2007 depending on well durations. Eni's program will probably cover operations offshore West Africa and potentially other areas also.
