Increased demand in the Mediterranean floater market will lead to a deficit of three of four units by late 2008. The base supply of units in the region will remain largely unchanged and just one unit, a standard semi, is showing clear availability early next year. Jackup demand remains strong, however with around a dozen units scheduled to become available in the first part of next year, day rates will be kept in check.
