A paraspinal pulmonary lesion

A bullae is defined as emphysematous space larger than one centimeter in the inflated lung. The common complications of bullae are pneumothorax and space occupation symptoms, although fluid accumulation and infection in bullae is unusual. We report a rare case of infected bullae that mimicked extra-pleural empyema. The infected bullae were only identified after precise imaging review and thoracoscopic intervention.
