摘要

This study is an attempt to gain better understanding of chilli germplasm behavior against sudden wilt syndrome, a relatively new and economically important problem, which manifests more prominently during flowering and fruiting stages, causing rapidwilt that leaves the growers with little time to react. Sudden wilt occurs due to the water stagnation which creates hypoxic conditions in the plant root zone and is further aggravated by Fusarium oxysporum. Out of one hundred seventy seven genotypes, forty one genotypes namely AGP-802, DS-165, FL-201, FLP-626, FLP-630, FLP-641, FLP-638, FLP-637, FLP-640, FLP-653, FLP-654, FLP-647, FLP-655, FLP-640, G-4, KOH-312, PAU-211, PBC-380, PC-422, PC-424, PL-423, PP-418,PUP-662, PUP-661, PUP-660, Punjab Surkh, Punjab Tej, Punjab Sindhuri,SL-473, SNP-726, SNP-727, SNP-737, SNP-744, SNP-731,SNP-767, SNP-768, SNP745,SNP-737, SNP-755, US-501 and YL-582 exhibited resistant reaction while nine genotypes viz. DS-166, FLP-646, PCH-754, SL-466, SNP-734, SNP-732, SNP-750, SNP-733, SL-465 were found to be moderately resistant against sudden wilt syndrome of chilli.
