If you're farming commercially today, more than likely you're a bigger farmer than your grandfather was. Today, fewer farmers produce more acres of crops. Many growers produce more with fewer employees. For the same reason, you probably have fewer farming neighbors to compare notes with. Time was, if you were looking to buy a particular piece of equipment or wanted to learn about varieties and inputs,you probably could find a neighbor who had already tried what you were looking at.
