International tea prices rose slightly in March, as a seasonal fall in prices at Calcutta was offset by further rises at the Colombo auction. The three-auction average rose slightly to US$2.186 per kg in March, up by just 5 cents from the previous month. Prices at Calcutta fell to US$1,584 per kg, down 16 cents when compared to February. In contrast, average prices in Colombo rose to USS2,856 per kg - up by 30 cents from the previous month. Prices at Mombasa remained unchanged at US$2,118 per kg.
