A RING MONOPOLE ANTENNA FOR UWB APPLICATION

A simple and compact microstrip-fed ultra wideband printed monopole antenna is proposed and investigated. The proposed antenna is composed of a circular-ring fed by a microstrip line and a multistep ground. The measured bandwidth of voltage-standing wave ratio < 2 is from 3.0 to 12.0 GHz. The transfer functions of antenna systems are given experimentally. The parametric studies are performed numerically in this article.
