摘要

The emergence of novel swine origin influenza A (H1N1) virus (S-OIV), first recognized in Mexico, has affected 4,379 patients in 29 countries, with 49 deaths as of 10 May 2009 (2-5, 7, 8). Here we describe the first case of S-OIV infection in Hong Kong, as confirmed by LightCycler and ultrarapid reverse transcriptase PCR (RT-PCR) analysis.A 25-year-old previously healthy and asymptomatic Mexican man arrived in Hong Kong from Mexico via Shanghai on 30 April 2009. He attended the hospital emergency room because of fever, productive cough, and myalgia on the same day. His temperature was 38°C
