摘要

Large molecular machines perform many cellular processes and it is of fundamental interest to understand how these enzyme complexes work in detail. In this regard, not only an accurate description of the static three-dimensional (3D) structure is required, but also a description of how these machines change their structure over time. These internal protein motions have been shown to be important for, fIor example, biomolecular recognition, allostery, protein stability, and enzymatic activity. NMR spectroscopy is especially suited to study internal motions and when combined with methyl TROSY techniques is able to address this aspect in very large molecular assemblies
