At long last the Ontario Forest Business Association seems to be on the rise, with seueral accomplishments already under the young organization's belt. The missing link is still more inuoluement from loggers. Industry folks in Northwestern Ontario have long promoted the need for an active, broadly represented logging operations association. Harkening back to the days of the old CPPA Woodlands Section, followed by the failed attempt at establishing the Canadian Woodlands Forum in the region, many local forest industry suppliers, academics, woodlands personnel and others have long tried to establish a strong industry lobby and educational group. The missing ingredient has always been active participation from the region's logging contractors, and while this is still a hurdle, the recently re-launched Ontario Forest Business Association (OFBA) seems to be on track to succeed where others have not.
