When Jason Rouillard started logging at the age of 20, CTL haruesting seemed an easier entry point. Three years and two machines later, he's in a little deeper than he'd planned, but still sees a bright future. Over a breakfast of eggs and Texas toastin Upsala, ON, Jason Rouillard admits that there aren't a lot of loggers his age working the remote bush of Northwestern Ontario. In fact, the difficulty of starting off in the region's logging business is one of the reasons the 23-year-old logger opted for cut-to-length (CTL) logging in the first place.
