Dodge has introduced a serious, off-the-shelf off-road truck with its new Power Wagon. Shovel in hand and tongue in cheek, DaimlerChrysler ceo Dietet Zetsche announced the building of a new reputation for the Ram pickup. The mock "earth turning" ceremony at the company's Chelsea, MI proving grounds in June 2004 soon exploded into action, as an earthen mound beside the podium blew apart to reveal a Dodge Ram Power Wagon. It roared out onto the presentation carpet covered in dirt, and sporting a name that hadn't been riveted to a Dodge fender in over 25 years.
