Saluaging beetle kill wood in BC is putting more demands on area loggers, including the need for more sorting. Some are changing the tools to get the job done, others just the methods. The infestation of the mountain pine beetle in British Columbia'sCentral Interior is forcing some of the region's loggers to change the way they harvest wood. It's a change that has come about rapidly; many of the licensees have quickly modified their mills from tree length facilities to cut-to-length (CTL) operations, or, at least, added extra sorts in the bush.
