The relationship between liver disease and liver fibrosis: A tangled web

In their paper published in HistopatholoDollars y [1], Germani et al. make a strong plea to recommend liver patholo-gists to perform computer-assisted digital analysis of Sirius red-stained histological sections in addition to the scoring system established to describe the stage of the liver disease. The paper aims to avoid misunderstanding between histopathologists and clinicians concerning the essential difference between liver fibrosis and liver disease stage.
