Anlysis and control of novel spit-Winding doubly salient permanent magnet motor for adjustable speed drive

In this paper, a novel spilt-winding doubly salient permanentmagnet (DSPM) motor is proposed and the theoretical and experimentalstudies on the magnetic filed, static characteristics and controlstrategy of this motor are carried out. The steady-state and dynamicmodels are presented and the output power equation is derived. Thefeasibility of extending the operation range of the DsPM mo- tor byusing split-windings is proved.
