A trio of articles in the latest issue of WIREs Nanomedicine and Nanobio-technology concerns transcutaneous delivery of nanoparticles. In a commentary, Associate Editor Nancy Mom teiro-Riviere states, "Nanoparticles are increasingly used in consumer products and pharmaceutics, raising a legitimate concern that these particles may be hazardous to human health. Skin is an important route of exposure to chemicals and nanomaterials because it is one of the largest organs and is the primary interface between the body and the environment.
