Beef and veal production in the main world beef producing countries is expected to fall in 2011 with a selected modest recovery forecast in 2012. In South America in particular, the combined production of Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay is forecast to fall by four per cent. Production from these countries, plus the United States and Australia, which together account for two thirds of global beef exports, is expected to decline one per cent in 2011 compared to the year earlier.
