Prices in flux but demand absent Italy

The market is in a lull period – applications on winter cereals are over for now, with another application in 2-3 weeks, but the spring seeding has yet to begin. Maize acreage is expected to fall again – with some gloomy talk of another 10pc reduction on last year, largely in favour of soyabean, though others say it will not be so bad. This could lead to a 5-10pc reduction in overall fertilizer consumption this spring.
