In 1998, when Micky Arison, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Carnival Corporation, instructed Stephen Payne that he should prepare a design for Cunard's largest luxury ocean liner, the Queen Mary 2, it was like a dream come true. Stephen has since been designated President-elect of The Royal Institution of Naval Architects and has been awarded an OBE, the Merchant Navy Medal and a Blue Peter gold badge for his efforts!
