摘要

Maximizing synthetic efficiency and minimizing waste generation is a very important but challenging task in organic chemistry.Much progress has been achieved in making synthetic chemistry more sustainable using strategies such as the replacement of classical "stoichiometric" methods with atom-efficient, catalytic, and selective processes, the substitution of toxic organic solvents with novel media (e.g., ionic liquids and supercritical fluids), and the combination of multi-step syntheses into one-pot tandem reactions.
