THE EXHIBITION IS ALWAYS A LITMUS test for the health of the forest industries, as industry players, media and other soothsayers pick over various visitor, exhibitor and sales figures looking for trends that will emerge over the next four years. Attendance figures (not available at time of writing) are likely to end up lower than in 2002. However, taken in the context of one of the industry's worst recessions, FI2006 general manager Dell Bawden says she is pleased with the results.
