Identification of Grape Cultivars Via Microsatellite Markers

摘要

Grapevine is one of the most economically important fruit crop in the world. The great quantity of this cultivars described belong to V. vinifera L. and the various forms of the vinifera; European or Old World grape; which have been grouped under thespecies V. vinifera L., are of somewhat uncertain linage Along with the passing time, considerable developments were performed in molecular genetics studies such as RFLPs (Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism). RADPs (Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA), AFLPs (Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism) and Microsatellites (DNA based markers) DNA markers, which are based on PCR are playing increasingly role in a broad range of applications that include cultivar's identification, phylogenetics and the construction of linkage maps for marker assisted breeding and map based cloning of genes. By means of using these markers, it can be mapped genes, studied about population genetics and produced DNA fingerprints. Thus, biotechnology based tools can be also applied to cultivar of V. vinifera for identification.
