Psychopathology and Function aims to link the pathology of mental health disorders and occupational therapy practice. The text begins with describing the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, 5th Edition (DSM 5), the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework, 3rd Edition, and the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Heath (ICF). Each is described in a manner that is easily understood, followed by an explanation of the connections between the three documents. The author does a particularly good job of linking the DSM 5 to the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework. Occupational therapy frames of reference and current trends in occupational therapy, including changes in reimbursement structures, increasing population diversity, and increased interdisciplinary interventions, are discussed in relation to mental health care.
