摘要

AbstractFibers have been prepared from tetramethylene terephthalate–tetramethylene sebacate copolymers, containing up to 20 mol of the latter, using a conventional melt‐spinning technique. The mechanical properties of these undrawn fibers and of highly oriented fibers prepared from them have been evaluated. The changes in mechanical properties brought about by the introduction of sebacate groups in poly(tetramethylene terephthalate) have been related to the glass‐transition temperatures of the copolymers and to the flexible nature of the sebacate unit.
