Recently, there has been renewed interest in the philosophy of investigation, and in particular, in its essentially inerative/adaptive nature. The iterative rather than the #x201C;one-shot#x201D; concept for experimentation has profound implications for the way we approach statistical inference, the use of data analysis, and experimental design. With this in mind it seems appropriate to make the following article more generally available.
