Tunable fin‐line—microstrip oscillator

AbstractThe frequency of a microstrip oscillator is difficult to tune. A new millimeter‐wave microstrip Gunn oscillator is introduced in this Letter. Consisting of fin line and microstrip with microstrip as the output‐port transmission line, this Gunn oscillator can be mechanically frequency tuned. A Ka‐band oscillator of this structure is developed. The tuning bandwidth of this oscillator can reach 7.5 GHz or more with an output power of more than 70 mW. © 1994 John WileySon
