It is known that the size distribution of hydrocarbon (HC) pools within an arbitrary oil- and gas-bearing (hereafter, petroliferous) basin (PB) with initial geological resources Q is described by the truncated Pareto distribution (TPD). This distribution appears as a result of temporal development of processes of naph-thide genesis. Thus, it is interesting to obtain this distribution theoretically by constructing a mathematical model of the processes of formation and decomposition of HC pools. One of the approaches that allows us to describe the process of HC pool formation in a PB at a macroscopic level is based on consideration of this process as structural organization of HC matter in a basin. In this work, we realize one version of such an approach.
