Even though they play important roles in pollination and seed dispersal of many plants, they have been considered to be pests on fruit and plantation crops due to their voraciousfeeding behavior. Bats also known as flying foxes are mammals called Chiroptera, meaning 'hand-wing'. There are more than 1,115 recognized species of bats occurring worldwide expect in extensive polar and desert habitats. Bats are traditionally characterized into two sub-orders mega and micro chiropterans. Mega bats (frugivorous bats) are usually large sized with well developed eyes and small ears. Their eye sight is good, locate food by smell. Micro bats (Insectivorous bats) are relatively smaller withsmall eyes and large ears, which have poor eyesight and locate food by echolocation or sonar.
