The success of new planting in perennial crops like coffee depends primarily on planting vigorous, disease-free seedlings in the field. Hence, utmost attention has to be given while raising the seedlings in the nursery. The foremost point to he considered for raising coffee seedlings is the location of site. The place selected should have gentle slope with good water source facility. The soil should be light to medium loamy and free from soil borne pathogens. The nursery site should be provided withoverhead pendal for shade and should be fenced off from cattle and other grazing animals.
