The financial crisis - now each day it is in thenews. Will it affect libraries? Yes it will. Prices forimported equipment and books may rise. Com-munities will not have enough income to fundlibraries any more. Is this what will come uponus during the next months or years? Are therecountries where it will be different? Are therecountries where the economy will stay stable andlibraries will develop? Or is it a global financialand economical crisis? I do not know what theimpact will be in your country, in your city, inyour university or community. But what I knowis that we have to prepare the arguments forlibraries, as in times of crisis libraries must be onthe agenda.
