摘要

Maize is the most important staple crop that plays an important role in food security. Maize is exposed to several biotic and abiotic challenges. Therefore, various plant pathogen interactions have been investigated. During the interaction several signallings occur inside plant system, one such is regulated by circadian cycles. Circadian cycles are components of the basic circadian oscillator and photo transduction pathways The mechanisms by which the circadian oscillator governs cellular physiologyare less well understood, Therefore, in the present investigation, genes related with circadian rhythm pathways in plants were studied after inoculation of maydis leaf blight susceptible and resistant maize genotypes with the fungal pathogen Bipolaris maydis. Gene expression was studied using RT-PCR and we found significant high expression of mentioned genes in resistant genotype at 48 hr post inoculation. This result indicates association of infection and response resistant genotype of plant with circadian rhythm.
