EU re-affirms Commission’s glyphosate renewal recommendation

European Commissioner Stella Kyriakides rejected anticipated calls against the proposed glyphosate herbicide re-approval in a European Parliament plenary debate last week, insisting that the process had been fair and science based. Ms Kyriakides made her remarks while opening the plenary debate. Last month, the Commission recommended that EU member states approve a 10-year authorization renewal for glyphosate. The re-approval would run from December 16, this year.
