In this article, two efficient time-parallel algorithms, the classical parareal algorithm and the parareal waveform relaxation (PWR) algorithm, were constructed and investigated for dynamic heat transfer through building envelopes. They were first compared with the response factor method and harmonic response method to show their reliability. Then the simulation results and parallel performance of the two parareal algorithms were investigated through examples about a roof, a double glass facade (DGF), and a wall with a patented aerogel insulating layer. In all simulations, the computing time of the PWR algorithm decreases by 26-30% compared to that of the classical parareal algorithm. The results for speedup and parallel efficiency also indicate that the PWR algorithm is more efficiency than the classical parareal algorithm.
