摘要

ABSTRACT Apraxia of eyelid opening (AEO) is a disabling syndrome characterized by inability to open the eyes at will, and patients occasionally attempt to open their eyes by contracting the frontalis muscles and touching their eye lids with their fingers. The exact pathophysiological mechanisms underlying this syndrome remain unknown. Previous reports suggest that AEO is often associated with blepharospasm and is occasionally seen in patients with Parkinson's disease or other movement disorders. These reports suggest that AEO may be caused by lesions at the basal ganglia. In this report, we show a video of typical AEO.
