This volume on proxies for Quaternary monsoon reconstruction on the Tibetan Plateau arises from a workshop held at the Freie Uni-versitat Berlin on April 3-4, 2012. About 40 participants from ten German universities and research institutions assembled and discussed mostly methodological issues of Quaternary palaeoclimate reconstructions for the Tibetan Plateau region.
