According to the latest IHS Fairplay data the global vehicle carrier vessel fleet - in terms of car capacity - expanded by 5 in 2012 to provide a total capacity of 3.8M cars. With shipments of cars and associated transport equipment forecast to have grown by more than 6 during the same period, prospects for pure car carriers (PCC) and pure car and truck carriers (PCTC) appear positive over the coming months.
