A day down the river

IF EVER I were restricted to a single boat I wouldn't own a boat at all—I'd be content with our canoe. 'Our' canoe's a vintage Coleman, which has faded from brilliant red to murky pink. It has provided some of fishing's best experiences over many years. It's travelled from far northern NSW to the top of the Cape, and west onto the slopes of the Great Divide. I've targeted everything from bass to Murray cod, and sooties, 'togas, JPs (especially) and even an odd jack or barra up north. My canoe has proven itself a most practical means of access—make that the best—to the wonderful world of sweetwater fishing.
