FISHING TECHNOLOGY handed us some particularly useful tools towards the end of the last century; notably graphite rods and gel-spun polyethylene line (GSP). The effects of each have been profound in their own way. However, these two aren't the only technological advances affecting how we fish—and the results we achieve! Electronics: Sounders (fish finders) and global positioning systems (GPS) revolutionised offshore fishing ages ago; but only recently have fishing electronics developed to a point where they're essential for all boat fishing.
