The new supermolecule, calix[4], actively seeks certain pharmaceuticals and removes them from water. Researchers investigated the interaction between this substance and common pharmaceuticals using spectroscopic, electrochemical, and thermal techniques. Based on the molecular simulation studies, researchers concluded that the supermolecule receptor interacts selectively with these drugs.
