New hub port plans for Nova Scotia

A new one million TEU capacity deep-water container port has been proposed in Nova Scotia. It will compete with other east coast North American terminals for the all important US Mid-West market. A spokesperson for the proposed port in Sydney Harbour, Gordon Forsyth, told Containerisation International that it would be the only port on the east coast of North America - bar Norfolk - that could handle vessels above 8.000TEU totally unimpeded.
