CAI ups its investment in railcars

New York listed CAI International, which specialises in renting out container equipment, is to expand its railcar rental business. It has arranged a USD85 million senior credit facility through the Union Bank of North America and the US Bank of North America to fund further rolling stock acquisitions. Victor Garcia, ceo, explained: 'This is our first credit facility for the acquisition of rail cars and we are very pleased with the support we have received from our lenders and the confidence they have shown us by supporting our efforts in growing our rail business.'
