Operators in the intra-Asia trade-lane are pursuing aggressive price increases to get themselves back into profit. This follows a prolonged period of very low rates, sometimes as low as zero after taking into account fuel surcharges. The Intra-Asia Discussion Agree ment (IADA) recommended a rate increase target of USD100/ TEU from mid-April, and a further increase of USD100/TEU from mid-May.
