At a global level, MDS Transmodal (Mds T) estimate that total loaded maritime TEU volume grew by 8% between 04 10 and 04 11 and can be expected to grow by a further 4% in 2012. The global volume in 0112 was 36% above the level five years earlier, reflecting a compound growth rate of 6.3% over the period, despite the financial crises and economic recession.
