We consider the multiple-scattering and forward-scattering corrections to the transmission measurements in the case of a detector with a variable field of view. The transmission functions for predicting the angular distribution of forward-scattering transmittance are proposed. We present results of measurements of transmission functions for polystyrene spheres. Numerical estimations of the forward-multiple-scattering corrections are in good agreement with the experimental results. (C) 1998 Optical Society of America. [References: 16]
